"A Special Place" on CBC and on Cover of The Gazette
🥪📰✨Pretty 'Special' to wake up to my face on the cover of the newspaper. My new short film, “A Special Place”, about Montreal’s undisputedly legendary Wilensky’s Light Lunch - one of the city’s very oldest restaurants (grilling up Wilensky Specials since 1932!) - premieres today on the CBC Creator Network (link to watch in the comments).
The short film, or ‘music photeo’ as I like to call it, has photos, it's got music, it's got a poem I wrote and it's got one heck of a Special sandwich. Pretty much has it all, even a bit of mustard!
Big thanks to Gregg Silver for the always awesome music, to the CBC for showing the film, to Bill Brownstein for the zinger of a Gazette cover story, to Tim Snow at The Gazette for shooting the photos in the article and to Sharon Wilensky and the devoted and unforgettable team at Wilensky’s at 34 Fairmount St. West in Montreal’s Mile-End neighbourhood.
And most of all thanks to YOU for watching the film and for spreading the word! Feel free to share this post with other foodies and Montreal lovers.
